2013 Thanksgiving Food Drive has begun

Student Council encourages school community to participate in local food drive from Nov. 12 to 20

The annual Thanksgiving Food Drive at Charlton Heights is in full swing.

The collected food will be used to assist needy families in the BH-BL community. Any remaining food will then be donated to local Food Pantries.

Items may be brought in to your child’s classroom starting Tuesday, Nov. 12 until Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Some suggested non-perishable food items for donation are:

  • Baby food and baby formula,
  • baking supplies,
  • canned fruit,
  • canned meats,
  • canned soups,
  • canned vegetables,
  • cereals,
  • coffee, tea and hot chocolate,
  • desserts,
  • dried beans,
  • dried milk,
  • instant potatoes,
  • juice,
  • pasta,
  • peanut butter,
  • pork & beans,
  • rice,
  • sauces,
  • spaghetti sauce,
  • stuffing, and
  • tuna fish.
