the March 1, 2007 public referendum
Both Propositions
pass by wide margins
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake residents approved two propositions
at a special referendum vote on March 1, 2007 in the
high school gym.
Here are the official voting results:

Renovations Bond Issue Proposition to spend
$4.9 million in state building aid to complete
12 school renovations projects with no
additional cost to local
taxpayers:
789 votes for
123 votes against, a passing margin of 86% |

Real Property Purchase Proposition to buy a
parcel of land adjacent to the Bus Garage and
Stevens Elementary School for no more than $98,000.
777 votes for
132 votes against, a passing margin of 85% |
A total of 914 residents voted,
including 31 who voted by absentee ballot. This is
significantly lower than the typical BH-BL voter turnout
for the budget vote in May. |
