2011-12 Board of Education Goals

In addition to their many ongoing legal responsibilities (which are described at Board Powers and Duties), members of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Board of Education identify a small number of annual goals for themselves each fall.

These goals are often designed to research or address long term district needs and/or to lay the groundwork for major initiatives.

 

District Strategic Objectives

The board's annual goals also represent specific ways in which the board is working to support the overall District Strategic Objectives, which are:

  1. To increase student learning, achievement, and personal growth in measurable ways.
  2. To advance student attainment of 21st Century skills, knowledge, and attitudes.
  3. To fully implement Culture : Team : Data.
  4. To improve district infrastructure, technology, and  operations.

 
 

2011-12 Goals for the BH-BL Board of Education
content bullet To more directly observe and support Culture : Team : Data by making regular visits to our schools and by arranging for more school presentations at Board of Education meetings.
content bullet To create a new foundation that will allow district supporters to make financial contributions to various BH-BL programs.
content bullet To use an inclusive search process to identify a Superintendent who will preserve the strengths of the BH-BL culture and ensure continued excellence in our schools.
