High School running on full day schedule, Jan. 19

The High School will be running on a full day schedule today, Jan. 19 as a result of the two hour delay on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

AP Macroeconomics Students

Congratulations to BH-BL student artists

Congratulations to Gabriela Basil, Chloe Jacobs, Nathan Slisher, Marielle Scott, Eli Grippin, Madeline Boussa, Grace Apffel, Elizabeth Jones, and John Matrazzo, whose artwork has been selected for the All-Stars Exhibit at Saratoga Arts, January 13 - February 10, with an opening reception on January 13, 3-5 p.m.  Gabriela, Chloe, and Nathan are students of Mrs. Wendy Corrigan.  Marielle, Eli, and Madeline are students of Mrs. Christine Layden. Grace, Elizabeth, and John are students of Ms. Regina Capobianco.

Congratulations to BH-BL student musicians

BH-BL music students are very busy this month, being honored with acceptance into three music festivals! Accepted into the Scholastic Suburban Council Music Festival, with a concert at Columbia High School at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13th are: Rebecca Landry, Matthew Sinnenberg, Camille Sirianni, and Kieran Thomas (Band), Hailey Aldrich, Ben Evans, Madeleine Hicks, and Ammon Smith (Chorus), and Erich Brucker, Abigail Evans, Jessica Landry, Andrew Rudolf, Jacob Schafer, Cedrick Sirianni, and Nathan Slisher (Orchestra).

Accepted into the Saratoga-Warren All-County Choral Festival, with a concert at Hudson Falls High School at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20 are: Veronica Bikowicz, Lexie Childs, Olivia Dion, and Rochelle Tebbens (Treble Chorus), and Hailey Aldrich, Mary Hamilla, Madeline Hicks, Paige Kenneally, Aidan McKenna, Edison Roberts, and Julia Sitors (10-12 Chorus).

Accepted into the Saratoga-Warren All-County Orchestra/Jazz Band Festival, with a concert here at BH-BL at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27 are: Erich Brucker, Lauren Carr, Andrew Rudolf, Jacob Schafer, Nathan Slisher, and Samantha Whitman (10-12 Orchestra), and Bradley Albright, Abigail Evans, Sam Hatfield, and Cedric Sirianni (9-12 Jazz Band).

NYSSMA Solo Festivals

The regular NYSSMA Instrumental/Vocal Festival (Ravena - April 13-14) deadline is Friday, January 19.  The NYSSMA Instrumental Jazz/Vocal Jazz Festival (Shaker Jr. High School - June 1-2) deadline is Friday, March 2.  Information and applications are available in the High School Fine Arts Office, the Middle School Music Office, and from you school Music Teacher.

PRIDE will hold meetings on Jan. 16, Feb. 6 & Feb. 27 during AAP in Room 234.

Masterminds practice meeting, Jan. 18

The Masterminds practice meeting will be held on Thursday, Jan. 18 during AAP in Mrs. Erickson's room.

Demo Day, Jan. 24

Demo Day is this coming Wednesday, Jan. 24.  All participants must arrive by 8:30 a.m. and meet in Room S23.  The day runs from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.  Please make sure you check your email from Mr. Watts outlining your demo group and room location.  Please make sure you contact him directly if you cannot attend or if you have questions about the day.  Students performing the carbon dioxide bubbles experiment must meet Mrs. Dooley in Room S23 on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 11 a.m.  Email her directly if you cannot attend.  Please remember to have a poster or visual display with you on Wednesday.  Any questions, please see Mr. Watts in Room S24.  We look forward to an exciting day.

Glens Falls Hospital Healthcare event, Feb. 27

Glens Falls Hospital is hosting a High School to Healthcare event on Tuesday, Feb. 27 from 6 until 8 p.m.  The even is open to students in grades 9-12, this program will showcase opportunities in healthcare and show students how to achieve their healthcare career goals.  There will be interactive stations staffed by healthcare professionals with hands-on activities as well as opportunities to see some of the equipment.  Please contact Carolyn Wickes at or call (518) 926-5903 with any questions.
