Daily Announcements

Thursday, February 2, 2012

Today is a recycling day and tomorrow will be an “F” Friday.

Attention students:  if you are planning to stay for activity period today, please be aware that the activity buses will be here right at the end of activity period because of the elementary half day.  Please go directly to the activity bus dismissal area at 3:20.  And remember…activity buses have changed.  Know your new bus BEFORE the end of activity period.

Need extra help with Math 7 & 8?  Peer tutors are available each Thursday during activity period.  Math 7 in Room 121 and Math 8 in Room 125.

The Super Bowl Soup Drive is taking place this week.  Place your cans or boxed food in the container for the Super Bowl team you want to win.  Containers will be located outside the cafeteria and library as you come in before homeroom.  If you donate three or more items, your name will be put in a raffle to win a $10 iTunes gift card.  Bring in your canned food and let’s see who O’Rourke wants to win the Super Bowl.

The badminton tournament continues today after school for 6th graders.  All students involved in the tournament should report to the gym at first dismissal.  Any questions please see Mrs. Layton.

Attention 7th and 8th grade boys interested in playing JV tennis this spring:  there will be an open gym today during activity period in the front gym.  No experience or equipment is necessary.  See Mr. Leggieri with any questions or to sign up.

Club 26.2 will be walking today.  Meet in Room 120 with sneakers on and don’t forget your green tickets.

Attention XPE Club members:  there will be a second t-shirt order placed.  See Mr. Leggieri for a form.  Forms and money are due today.

Today is the day!  The Salsa Dance Party in Spanish Club!  Come learn the steps of this exciting Cuban dance.  It’s going to be lots of fun.  We will meet in Ms. Trapini’s Room 312.

6th Grade Rec Night tomorrow from 7-9:00.  Admission is $4.00.  There will be pizza, snacks and drinks available at an additional cost.  Come dance to your favorite music, hang out in the gym or take part in a scavenger hunt.  Prizes will include Gertrude Hawk Chocolates.

Math Club will meet today in Room 121 during activity period.  Team members need to see Ms. Donegan if you are unable to attend the meeting.

Do you have a favorite team jersey?  Whether it is a BHBL jersey, a Boston jersey, a Steelers jersey or a jersey that supports your favorite Super Bowl team – show your school spirit and wear a jersey tomorrow for Favorite Jersey Day.

Mrs. King will not be in the building today.

Congratulations to the Boys’ Modified Wrestling Team for their win over Mohonasen – great job boys!
