Kindergarten registration information

If you have a child entering kindergarten in the 2018-19 school year and he or she is not yet on our list of incoming students please contact Registrar Jackie Martini at 518-399-9141, ext. 85002 or jmartini@bhbl.org. Registration packets will be mailed to parents Thursday, Feb. 22; the Kindergarten Informational Meeting is Monday, March 5 at 7 p.m. at Pashley Elementary School; and registration is Monday and Tuesday, March 12 and 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Stevens Elementary School.

Grades 4 and 5 to participate in skiing/snow shoeing unit

With the recent snow fall mother nature has brought to us, students in fourth and fifth grade will be starting the cross country skiing/snow shoeing unit in P.E. on Monday, Jan. 8. The unit is expected to continue for two to three weeks, weather dependent. In order to participate in this unit, all students must wear a winter coat, hat, gloves, snow pants, boots for snow shoeing (boots will be provided for cross country skiing), and extra socks. Students must have all of these articles of clothing on the days they have P.E. class. Students are allowed to bring in their own skis and snow shoes if they have them, but only if parents drop them off in the morning. (Students are not allowed to have them on the bus.) Please label your child's equipment.

Reminder for pick-up procedures

If your child is being picked up at dismissal or early during the day for an appointment, please be sure to send in a completed green pick-up form or note with your child that day. The name of the person picking up the child should be included so we can properly check identification. Emailing the office to notify us of your child being picked up should be used for last minute changes only. Pick-up slips are available from the main office. A bus pass should be sent in whenever your child is taking a different bus on a given day. Bus passes are also available in the main office.

New breakfast program for students

Last school year, the BH-BL Food Service Department began offering elementary school students the option to buy breakfast at school. Breakfast will be available each morning from 8:20-8:40 in the cafeteria. Students may purchase a well-balanced breakfast for $1.50, and may pay with cash or from their individual cafeteria accounts. Students who want to buy breakfast should go directly to the cafeteria upon arrival at school. Remember, a good start to the day begins with a healthy meal. [BREAKFAST MENU]
