Recently, Coach & Athletic Director Magazine announced its program of excellence "Honorees" and "Best of Class" (public & non-public) winners honoring the nation's best athletic programs for their off-the-field achievements. Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School was named one of the top three schools in the nation for public schools.
The program of excellence was created to honor sports programs their overall commitment to promoting a positive experience for student athletes.
In the 2012-13 school year, Coach & Athletic Director Magazine received nominations from schools in 44 states. The honorees were selected based on their success in the following eight categories: participation rate, coaches certification, community service, athletic director national certification, community service, scholar-athlete status, level of participation, sportsmanship and parent participation.
"We have an incredible program," says Athletic Director Bob
McGuire. "And this nomination shows that it's not just for our
success on the field and court, but for our dedication to our
students and our community. Congratulations to the many coaches
who contributed to this and for the commitment, pride and
passion they have put towards our student athletes. I'm
extremely proud of all of our coaches."
