A recent guest speaker at the high school prompted students to participate in The White Line Project. This project is aimed at helping students realize that other people in their lives are their "white lines," which is a metaphor for what students should be focused to help them get through difficult times in their lives.
To create an actual white line, every student wrote the name or names of people who provide them with a source of strength and who they can rely upon during difficult times. All of the white papers were then attached and affixed to the cafeteria wall to create a long white line.
The message: Never give up. Identify what or who in your life is the "white line" and follow it to get through tough times.
