Congratulations to BH-BL High School junior Allison Taft for being selected as an Albany Pro Musica apprentice where she will get the chance to sing and perform with music professionals. Taft will actually be part of the Albany Pro Musica's debut of the Torres-Santos Requim, which will be peformed at the prestigious Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on May 2, 2015.
At BH-BL, Taft sings alto in Concert Choir and Select Choir, and she will be the lead role of Reno Sweeney in the school's upcoming spring musical, Anything Goes.
Allison has been very involved in music since her elementary days and has also been a member of the Capital District Youth Chorale, which has performed separately and in conjunction with Albany Pro Musica in various venues such as Troy Saving Bank Music Hall, The Palace Theater and Proctors Theater, to name a few.
In 2014, Taft was chosen to sing in both the Saratoga-Warren All County Chorus and the Suburban Council music festivals, and was chosen again this spring to sing in the All-County chorus.
Allison is a true Spartan singer, says her teacher Ann Marie Derrick.
Good luck and congratuations, Allison.
