Summer Rec registration April 29 and May 6

Don't let your children miss out on summer fun. Join Summer Rec to introduce your children to swimming lessons, arts & crafts, sports and more. BH-BL 2015 Summer Rec program registration will be held on Wednesday, April 29 and Wednesday, May 6 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the BH-BL HS cafeteria, 88 Lakehill Road.

Summer Rec is a supervised recreational program that provides children with a place to play sports, swim, try new things and develop friendships. Any child who is ENTERING GRADES one through seven for the UPCOMING (2015-16) school year may register to attend. Registered children must live in the town of Ballston, Charlton or Glenville.

The Summer Rec program is held Mondays through Fridays, June 29 to July 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The cost per child is $350 for the entire season for Town of Ballston and Glenville residents. For the Town of Charlton residents, the cost is  $400 per child. (Due to the Town of Charlton cutting appropriated funding there is a $50 usage fee per registered child.)

If you can't drop off your children at Summer Rec, the program provides busing at no additional cost. Please pick up a bus stop schedule at registration night.

What will my child do during Summer Rec?

  • SWIMMING: We offer free swimming instruction based on the Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program. Thirty minute daily lessons will be provided to Kiddieland Rec’ers and thirty minutes a day of supervised open swim for all 4th and up Rec’ers. Swim program will be held at High School pool.
  • ARTS & CRAFTS: All children will visit Arts & Crafts each day, to take part in a variety of hands-on projects
  • Primary (1st – 3rd): This is a special program for children entering Grades 1, 2, and 3. The children will have their own area within the program and will take part in individual and group activities. They will participate in a daily Special Events and take field trips to places such as Chuck E Cheese, Tree Pad, Animal Land, Scotia Cinema, Bowling and much more.
  • Intermediate (4th–7th): Children will be assigned to their grade level group and follow a daily schedule.
