In an effort to make this year's centennial celebration memorable and historic, BH-BL has been hosting and participating in many centennial-related events and assemblies, such as the community-wide centennial celebration, the unveiling of Centennial Field, the creation and sale of the "100 Memories of BH-BL" centennial books, the districtwide production of Joseph and the Technicolored Dreamcoat as well as various school projects and historical assemblies, to name just a few.
Another exciting event the district is co-hosting with Van Vranken Law Offices is a free performance by the United States Navy's official choir, the Sea Chanters. They will perform at BH-BL High School on Sunday, April 10 at 3 p.m. (Doors open at 2:30 p.m.)
The Sea Chanters are frequently found at the center of our most important national events, including inauguration day in 2009, and performing for the public throughout the United States in various venues. When in Washington, they perform for the president, vice president and numerous congressional, military and foreign dignitaries.
The ensemble performs a variety of music ranging from traditional choral music, including sea chanteys and patriotic fare, to opera, Broadway, and contemporary music.
And now the singers are coming to BH-BL to perform for our community! The event is free, but seating is limited to the school's auditorium capacity. Tickets can be picked up beginning March 1 at Mail n' More on Rt. 50 in Burnt Hills. Given the space constraints, we must limit individuals to 10 tickets each. A ticket is required for admittance to the concert. We only have enough tickets to fill the auditorium, so please don't wait to get your tickets.
