Power has been restored

Update 12:53 p.m.

Power has been restore to the high school and the elementary schools. Please check the district’s website for information about weekend events planned at the middle school.

Update at 12:45 p.m.

Although the high school and Stevens are currently without power, the principals have reported that school is progressing as usual and learning and teaching are still occurring. The emergency lights throughout the buildings and the natural light coming in the windows are keeping the buildings bright. Additionally, the schools are warm and everyone is treating the day as a typical school day. The have been or are currently being fed lunch, and the principals say the lunch routine today is like any other day–kids are smiling, socializing with friends, and enjoying their lunch break.

School will dismiss at regular time, however, all after-school and evening activities have been cancelled for today except for varsity athletic practices.

Y-Care at Stevens has also been cancelled. (It is still on at Pashley Elementary School.)

Thank you.
