Grade 6

  • English: Yellow pocket folder*  & a yellow, one-subject notebook
  • Literature/Reading: Red pocket folder*
  • Math: Blue pocket folder* & your teacher will let you know what other supplies are needed
  • Science: Green pocket folder & your teacher will let you know what other supplies are needed
  • Social Studies: Purple pocket folder*
  • General Supplies: An inexpensive set of earbuds/headphones; colored pencils; four 12-pack boxes of sharpened pencils; 1 pair of scissors; 1 container of disinfecting wipes; 2 boxes of tissues; 2 glue sticks & (recommended) Texas Instruments TI-30XIIS Calculator

Grade 7

Common Necessities For Daily Classroom Use

*One combination lock will be provided to each 7th grade student for use on their homeroom locker.

  • Blue or black ballpoint pens, pencils and colored pencils & pencil pouch
  • Loose leaf paper
  • 10 dividers with tabs
  • Metric ruler
  • Single sheet, plastic 3-hole punch that clips to binder
  • Earbuds/headphones for classroom use (inexpensive set)
  • One box of tissues- to be handed in to the homeroom teacher
  • Combination lock*- needed for PE (Locks are available for purchase through the PE department.)
  • Note cards
  • Two different color highlighters

Math – Blue

  • A calculator is recommended. TI-30 x II – Solar (used sporadically in Grade 7, a must for Grade 8)
  • BLUE *ONE INCH* three-ring binder

Science – Green

  • GREEN *ONE INCH* three-ring binder
  • Pencils a must

Social Studies – Purple

  • PURPLE *ONE INCH* three-ring binder

English – Yellow

  • Composition notebook- any color (Please keep this receipt as not all teachers use this.)
  • 2 Dry Erase Markers- any color
  • Post-it notes

Technology

  • *ONE INCH* three-ring binder (any color)

Art

  • Wire spiral bound sketchbook – size 8  ” x 11” or 9” x 12” with at least 70 white blank pages.  (students may use the same sketchbook for Grade 8)
  • #2 wooden pencils with erasers
  • Block eraser

World Language- Red

  • RED Pocket folder
  • RED *ONE INCH* three-ring binder or spiral notebook
  • 100 index cards

Physical Education

  • Attire: Athletic shorts/sweatpants, t-shirt/sweatshirt, athletic socks and sneakers.
  • Locks: Students are strongly encouraged to purchase locks for the locker room through the Physical Education Department.
  • PE Teachers will have the ability to assist a student with opening his/her lock (forgot combination, emergency, etc.) if the lock is purchased through the PE Dept. The cost is $5.00 for a new lock with free replacements (checks can be made payable to: BH-BL CSD).

NOTE: Students will be required to use a drawstring-style cinch bag to carry their school-issued chromebook computer. Many families have already purchased a cinch bag from the middle school. If you have not done so, your student may purchase a cinch bag in September for $10. Checks should be made payable to: BH-BL CSD. Previously purchased bags will remain at school over the summer and will be reissued in September.


Grade 8

  • A 1” or 1.5” binder for each Math, Science and Social Studies and loose leaf paper

Homeroom

  • One box of tissues

English

  • Post-It Notes
  • Spiral or composition notebook
  • Whiteboard markers (3 – any color)
  • 200 3 X 5 index cards
  • Pocket folder

Math

  • Graph paper
  • Pocket folder
  • A calculator is recommended. TI-30X II-Solar suggested for most students
  • TI-84-graphing strongly suggested for accelerated students

Social Studies

  • Pocket folder (to be placed in binder)
  • earbuds or headphones
  • 3 ring binder 1”-1.5” thick, any color.
  • Composition Notebook

World Language

  • 3-ring binder or a spiral notebook (with perforated paper)
  • Pocket folder (to be placed in binder)
  • 100 index cards

Art

  • Wire spiral bound sketchbook, 8  ” x 11” or 9” x 12”; 30-50 pages – (7th grade sketchbook may be used if pages available).
  • Two #2 (HB) wooden pencils to be left in the classroom (no mechanical pencils please)
  • An extra fine or medium tip black liquid flair water-based marker. Papermate or sharpie is best

Technology

  • 3-ring binder (1” size only)

Science

  • Students will have the option to purchase a personal pair of lab goggles to be used in MS and HS science classes. Price will depend on the style chosen. Any student not purchasing personal goggles will use goggles from the in-class set.
