BH-BL HS students win big at Science and Engineering Fair
Gwenda Law advances to International Fair
Congratulations to BH-BL HS Science Research students who recently participated in, and won awards at, the Greater Capital Region Science and Engineering Fair at RPI. Their hard work paid off.
- Junior Evan Karl earned the Brown League Sports Science Award and the STANYS Eleanor Miller Reed Science Research Award, which is given to the project that “captures the spirit of science research.”
- Senior Benjamin Schiher earned the Dudley Observatory Award for the top project in astronomy or space science and the NASA Earth System Science Award for a project exhibiting a clear and focused purpose on Earth System Science.
- Senior Luke LeBel was awarded the American Meteorological Society Award for the top project in atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences.
- Senior Gwenda Law was awarded second place in the grand prizes which means she will now attend theInternational Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix, Arizona May 8-13. She will be be representing New York state while interacting with approximately 1,700 students from 75 different countries around the world. She was recognized with this honor for her work designing antimicrobial peptides.
