BH-BL’s robotics team earns 2nd place in Motivate Award
Congratulations to BH-BL High School’s robotics team, the Mechaspartans, for taking 2nd place in the Motivate Award category at the FIRST Tech Challenge competition this past weekend. The Mechaspartans competed against 17 other teams at the FTC competition and were required to design, build, program, and operate robots of their own design to play a floor game in an alliance format.
The team’s second place win for the Motivate Award is a true testament to what it means to be a Spartan. The Motivate Award is summarized as “sparking other to embrace the culture of FIRST!” It is awarded to the team that embraces the culture of FIRST and clearly shows what it means to be a team. This judged award celebrates the team that represented the essence of FIRST Tech Challenge competition through team building and team spirit, and displayed enthusiasm throughout the competition.
The Mechaspartan team, which is comprised of students Dalton Benn, Caleb Chrzan, Aidan Crouth, Emily Holder, Jarrett Kuehner, Jarred Odom, Logan Osterlitz, Zackary Scribner, and Corey Simmons, will be doing demonstrations at the Jr. FIRST Lego League tournament this weekend at Charlton Heights Elementary Schools. They will also be at the district’s annual Grade 4 Science Demo Day at the high school, at the Grade 6 grade Spirit Day, and at the elementary school science fairs.
