Charlton Height’s Kindergarten School Supply List

Dear Kindergarten Families,

We hope you are having a great summer.  Before you know it, it will be time for kindergarten to begin!  We are as excited about the upcoming year as you are!

Kindergarten Orientation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 9:20 a.m.  You and your child will be able to drop off their supplies and visit the classroom.  At 9:40 a.m., parents will attend an informational meeting with Mr. Sinnenberg and a PTA representative to learn more about Charlton Heights while your child participates in fun activities. The morning will conclude with you riding the bus with your child. After the bus ride, you are welcome to play on the Magic Maze with your child until noon.

The first full day of school for kindergarten is Friday, Sept. 6, 2019.

Please bring the following items with you on:

  • Backpack – basic, no wheels and not too many pockets or zippers, please.
  • 1 red plastic folder with pockets
  • 1 take home folder (your choice of design, plastic lasts longer) & 2-3 replacements to keep at home.
  • 1″ white binder with clear front view pocket
  • 1 package of Crayola twistable crayons (not mini size) 24 pack
  • 2 packs of Crayola 24 pack crayons
  • 4 large glue sticks
  • 24 #2 yellow pencils (Ticonderoga brand is preferred)
  • Headphones (not earbuds)- We will be using the headphones for computer time.
  • Please send the headphones in a labeled Ziploc bag with your child’s name.
  • Play-Doh (4 pack-5oz. containers/play-doh brand name preferred)
  • Box of tissues
  • 3 packs of unscented wipes (refills)
  • Art smock  (please label,  t-shirt works best)
  • 1 set of extra clothes labeled with your child’s name in a plastic bag…”just in case”. Please label all outerwear and personal belongings for your child.

**Helpful Hint: Summer school supply sales are usually the lowest of the year.  Most stores (Walmart, Target, etc.) will have them beginning in late July. You also have the option to reserve a supply kit at Mail “N” More.
