District seeks residents to join Assistant Superintendent Search Committee

BH-BL school leaders are looking for two community members to serve on an interview committee to select the district’s next Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction.

Interested residents should submit a letter of interest to Superintendent Dr. Patrick McGrath by Friday, Feb. 8, 2019.

Committee members must be able to commit to reviewing candidates’ applications some time between Feb.18 and 28, attend a meeting to select candidates for the interview process on Wednesday, March 6, and participate in interviews on Wednesday, and Thursday, March 20 and 21.

Interested participants must be BH-BL residents and preference may be given to community members who are actively involved in the school or who have an education-related background.

Current Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction Maryellen Symer is retiring June 30, 2019 after a 36-year career in education. She dedicated 26 of those years to BH-BL where she was a K-12 department head, and the high school principal before becoming the assistant superintendent.
