High School student Zachary Andrew competes in National competition
BH-BL High School and Capital Region Career & Technical Education student Zachary Andrew is competing in the National Automotive Technology Competition at the Javits Center in New York City today and tomorrow (April 3-4).
The annual competition is a chance for students to show their knowledge of automotive computer diagnostics, engines, technology and more. In preparation for the competition, the CTE students are working with representatives of DePaula Chevrolet, as well as CTE faculty, to get a feel for specific problems they may have to solve during the competition. The national competition is billed as “a test of skill, a measure of knowledge and a race against the clock all rolled into one.”
Zachary said he is looking forward to the competition: “It will be a good experience to compete and test my skills against some of the best in the country. Taking part in the competition will allow me to network and possibly earn some internships and tools,” he adds. “It is also helping me to build my confidence and skills.”
Good luck, Zachary!
