On Wednesday, July 29 at 6 p.m., BH-BL will host its second Reopening Schools forum. Due to the participant limitations set in GoogleMeet, the district has shifted the public forum to a live stream format using the district’s YouTube channel. Please use this link to watch the live forum. (The forum will also be recorded and available on the website.)
We will also host another question & answer session at the end of the presentation. In an effort to organize and group similar questions we are asking participants to submit their questions using this Google Form. Questions can be submitted at any time before or during the presentation.
At the forum Superintendent Patrick McGrath will outline the district’s Reopening Plan that all NYS school districts are required to develop and submit to the state on July 31. (The complete plan will be available on our website.)
While districts have been instructed to prioritize efforts to return all students to in-person instruction, the district has also planned for a fully virtual instructional model and a hybrid instructional model (in-person and virtual learning on a rotating schedule). Specific details within the instructional models are still being worked out, and in some cases are dependent upon how many students will attend school in-person or virtually, but the broad strokes will be shared during the forum. When developing the instructional models, school leaders consulted with principals, department heads, and teachers as well as incorporated the tremendous amount of helpful feedback from the parent survey, personal emails and phone calls.
It’s important to keep in mind that the Reopening Plan will continue to be developed/modified on a regular basis as new information becomes available and state decisions are made. Please check the district’s website regularly for updates.
We look forward to having you join us at the forum.
