Grade 6 Fully Virtual School Information & News
Hello and welcome to our virtual sixth grade team! We are very excited to meet your children and get started with the school year.
Since we won’t be working in-person with our students, almost all of our communications, assignments, and activities will be provided online. To that end, we’ve created a work-in-progress website where you can find links to our emails, classes, supply list, expectations, and helpful resources. We’re hoping you’ll take some time before the school year begins to check it out. When you’re on the website, please take time to “meet” your teachers by reading our brief bios. Also click on the “resources” tab. In that tab, you will find “tech help.” Additionally, lots of helpful tools and information such as directions for how to access the parent portal, remote learning support for parents, using Google Meets, and more can be found. These are important topics to cover with your child prior to the start of school.

First Day of School Instruction
On our first day of school, students will find out their exact schedules and which teachers they have for which subjects. We are also planning to schedule brief “meet your teachers” meetings during the first two days of school where your child will have a private Google Meet with our team of teachers! Please click this link to sign up for a time for your child to meet with us. Please make sure you only sign up for one slot, either Monday or Tuesday.

Special Area
Physical Education: Coach Froschauer
All of our Physical Education students are required to join a Google classroom. Assignments, videos and activities will be posted in the classroom on a weekly basis. Please join Google classroom for your virtual Physical Education assignments. The class code is: 5ztvmrc
Communication
From time-to-time, we will need to send materials home. These will include text books, novels, science and math materials, etc. We will email you when materials need to be picked up or returned to school.
We are all so excited to launch into this new adventure in education with you! This year will certainly be unconventional, but we hope the connections, warmth, and dynamic interactions of a traditional classroom will still take place. We believe that with everyone’s dedication, our 6th grade virtual team will be the gold standard for how successful online learning can be!
