What is CAPTAIN?

CAPTAIN Community Human Services is a community-based, non-profit agency providing services and referrals for families and youth in our local community. The agency uses professionals, trained volunteers and community resources to meet the needs presented. Youth services include:

Job Assist

A referral service for youth ages 14 to 21 who are seeking part-time or temporary employment, and for businesses looking to hire teens. The Job Assist Coordinator is available at the BH-BL High School during posted office hours.

Employment Skills Program (ESP)

One-on-one job skills training and employment support for youth, including training on how to get and keep gainful employment.

Family Support Services

Parenting education workshops and advocacy are offered throughout the year on such issues as developmental stages of childhood, communications in families, sibling rivalry and advocating for the needs of children with disabilities. CHS also offers transportation services for medical appointments.
