BH-BL Student Musicians accepted into the Saratoga-Warren All-County Band
Congratulations to the following Band students who have been accepted into the Saratoga-Warren All-County Band:
High School – Owen Bechtel, Mia Belanger, Emilie Bennett, Carsyn Bonesteel, McKenna Hickey, Anya Kotkoskie, Rhiannon Lara, Allison LeClair, Rhyan Lorenc, Justin Ronca, and Will Ziegler
O’Rourke Middle School – Angelo Aldi, Miles Bechtel, Arabella DeVito, Samantha Girard, Kaitlyn Green, Lauren Green, Christopher Guo, Thomas Kotkoskie, and Alyssa North
The honored students will rehearse with other students from area schools under the direction of a guest conductor, and perform in concert at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Ballston Spa High School.
Student Parking Passes, deadline – Sept. 20
All 11th & 12th Graders planning on driving to school for the 2019-2020 school year need to pick up a parking pass at the main office. All student vehicles must have a parking tag in place by Friday, Sept. 20
Club Fair, Sept. 26 during both lunches
Are you looking to get more involved? Any student interested in finding out more about clubs here at the high school can check them all out during the Club Fair on Thursday, Sept. 26 during both lunches. You will find the clubs under the covered walkway leading up to the gym entrance outside the cafeteria.
Freshman Class Homecoming Drink Donations needed through Oct. 4
Attention Freshman Class: Drink donations will be collected for Homecoming until Oct. 4. This is our largest fundraiser of the year and all proceeds are kept by the class to put towards future events. Please remember to bring the type of donations that are on the sign in your homeroom. Thank you for your participation!
Homecoming Fall Fest, Oct. 4
Do you want the chance to win a permanent parking space, special student privileges, candy and more? Come to the Homecoming Fall Fest on Friday, Oct. 4 from 7 until 10 p.m. in the student parking lot at the high school. $5 at the door, $4 if you’re dressed in school spirit or if you mention the event on Instagram @BHBLSGO.
Homecoming Activities, Oct. 4
Any student taking a guest from another high school to the Homecoming activities scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4 needs to complete a permission form. Forms are available in the Principal’s office. All guests must be in grades 9-12 to attend. No BH-BL Middle School students will be permitted to attend.

Fall Play Informational Workshop, Sept. 19
There will be an informational workshop on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Auditorium for the Fall play, Peter and the Starcatcher. All are welcome to attend. Meet the Director and find out more about the show!
German Peace Exchange meeting, Sept. 19
The German Peach Exchange meeting for the host students will take place on Thursday, Sept. 19 during AAP. The Parent meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Back-to-School night, Sept. 26.
Occupant Safety Summit, Sept. 20
Any student who would like to attend the Occupant Safety Summit in Albany on Sept. 20 should see Mrs. Henry-Starace ASAP. If you would like more information, stop by Room 213.
Auditions for Peter and the Starcatcher, Sept. 23-24
Auditions for Peter and the Starcatcher will be held in the High School Auditorium on Monday, Sept. 23 and Tuesday, Sept. 24 starting at 6 p.m. You do not need to prepare anything. Come and be ready to read and do some improvisation activities. All high school grade levels are welcome to audition.
Select Choir Auditions, Sept. 24-25
Select Choir Auditions will be held in the Chorus Room on Sept. 24 & 25 during AAP. Call backs will be Sept. 26. Any student in grades 9-12 who is currently enrolled in a performing ensemble may audition. Please pick up music and information outside the Chorus Room.
Auditions for Jazz Ensemble, Sept. 24-26
Current members of a curricular music ensemble can audition for Jazz Ensemble during the last week of September during AAP. Audition material and information is posted outside of the Band Room (189). If you are not in Band or Orchestra but are interested in playing with Jazz Ensemble this year, or if you have any other questions, please see or email Mr. O’Shea.

Strat-O-Matic Club will host a Home Run Derby on Playstation 4’s MLB The Show on Oct. 3 from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Spartan LGI. Winner will receive a $25 Visa Gift Card. PSAT sign ups for juniors has begun! If you have not received your informational memo, please be sure to get one from your homeroom teacher. Students can sign up with Ms. Scrivener through Wednesday, Oct. 9 with their $25 fee; cash or checks made payable to BH-BL High School.
Spartan Youth Football League is looking for Volunteers on Sept. 28!
The Spartan Youth Football League is looking for student volunteers to help with face painting at their Spartan Day on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Indian Meadow Park. Interested students can find more information posted on the Volunteer Board in the Counseling Center.
