NYSSMA Solo Festivals

Student musicians are invited to apply for participation in three different NYSSMA Solo Festivals, scheduled for the Spring.  The NYSSMA Piano Solo Festival (The College of Saint Rose – March 6-7) deadline for the application is Wednesday, Jan. 8.  The regular NYSSMA Instrumental/Vocal Festival (Voorheesville – Apr. 3-4) deadline for the application is Wednesday, Jan. 22.  The NYSSMA Instrumental Jazz/Vocal Jazz Festival (Schenectady County Community College – May 29-30) deadline for the application is Wednesday, Mar. 11.  Information and applications are available in the High School Fine Arts Office, the Middle School Music Office, and from your school Music Teacher.

Mindful Mornings, Tuesdays

Please join us for Mindful Mornings on Tuesdays at 7:20 a.m. in Room 252B in the Math wing for a great start to your day.  December’s Theme is Warmth and Unity.

Yearbooks are on Sale!

Yearbooks are on sale now at yearbookforever.com.  If you order now, they will be $65.  Prices increase January 1st.

Giving Tree Backpack Giveaway, through Dec. 13

The Giving Tree will be having a backpack giveaway during both lunches.  The backpacks will be loaded with things teenagers love; candy, snacks, spartan gear and electronic items!  Students can make a donation to the Giving Tree and then have a chance to enter the giveaway.  All proceeds will go to the Giving Tree Holiday Fund!

Yearbook Picture Retakes, Dec. 5

High School Yearbook retakes will be on Thursday, Dec. 5 in the Blackbox Theater from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.   Please bring your original packages.  Students who missed the original photo date should have their picture taken for the yearbook and for a student I.D.

Saratoga Victorian Stroll, Dec. 5

The Select Choir will be singing at the Saratoga Victorian Stroll on Thursday, Dec. 5 from 7:30 until 8 p.m.  Come listen and enjoy the festivities!

Festival of Trees, Dec. 7

The Select Choir will be singing at the Festival of Trees at the Ballston Town Government Center on Charlton Road on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 12 until 12:30 p.m.  Come get your holiday spirit on!

Dance and Reading Auditions for Thoroughly Modern Millie, Dec. 17

Dance and Reading Auditions for the spring musical Thoroughly Modern Millie will be held on Dec. 17 from 6 until 9 p.m. on stage.

Callbacks for Thoroughly Modern Millie, Dec. 18

Callbacks for the spring musical Thoroughly Modern Millie will be held on Dec. 18 from 6 until 9 p.m. in the Blackbox Theater.

The Class of 2023 Apparel Sale through Dec. 26

The Class of 2023 is running an apparel sale through Dec. 26.  They are selling Sweatpants, Long Sleeve T-Shirts, Short Sleeve T-Shirts and Hoodies.  Proceeds from this sale will go to the Freshmen class which supports big events their senior year (prom and banquet). Ask your LTPs/Homeroom Teachers for a handout explaining how to purchase.

Counseling Center News

Attention Seniors:  Instant Admit Days

BH-BL will be hosting several Instant Admit Days.  These are a quick and convenient way to apply for college free with no obligation to make a decision to attend until next May.  Interested students should see the Counseling Center to sign up and pick up an application to complete in advance of Instant Admit Day.

(Appointment times will be kept the same as what would have happened.  There still are a few open spots)
