New Instrumental Information

Specific Instrument Information

All students will need the following equipment and materials prior to their first lesson. We request that parents rent or purchase instruments from this list only. The professionals on our staff have found these instruments to be of a high quality and are suitable for elementary age children. Stringed instruments should be rented as opposed to purchased because children will need larger instruments as they grow. Parents who are experiencing financial problems should indicate this on the registration form by checking the box in order to be considered for a school rental. Families eligible for free or reduced lunch will get first priority on school rental instruments. For the development of good posture and breath support, the purchase of a music stand for each child’s home practice is essential! We recommend that instruments be delivered to the school in September so that students may be shown proper handling and care.

Please direct any questions about brand names, price, district rentals, etc. to a district instrumental teacher or the Director of Fine Arts at 518-399-9141, ext. 83183.
