Students must bring their tuition payment ($300 check, made payable to BH-BL Schools) to the high school’s main office prior to the opening meeting on Jan., 29, 2026. At the initial meeting, payment will be processed for any students enrolled in the program, and checks will be returned to students who are unable to be admitted for this session.
Enrolled students receive:
- 24 hours of classroom instruction (in a 1.5 hour Theory class once a week after school),

- 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction (in a 1.5 hour driving class once a week before or after school.
This semester, a morning drive time from 6:30 to 7:30 am has been added.
Families are asked for their assistance in providing at least 20 hours of supervised driving time for your child in your family car. An additional 30 hours will be needed prior to obtaining their senior license at age 17. A student-driving log will be provided for you to initial at home.
Attendance at all classes is mandatory to meet New York State requirements. Failure to do so will result in removal from the program. There are no refunds for students who do not meet the requirements of the Driver Education Program. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be issued an MV285 certificate. One portion of the certificate goes to DMV, allowing the student to schedule a road test or to obtain a senior license at age 17. The other portion of the certificate is to be presented to your automobile insurance company to obtain any applicable premium discounts.
The initial meeting for all drivers will be held on Thursday, Jan., 29, at 2:30 p.m. in the Spartan LGI Room in the high school to discuss the Driver Education program expectations, procedures and student schedules. Please note that attendance at this meeting is mandatory for all drivers in order to participate in the Driver Education Program. Drivers should be prepared to drive starting Monday, Feb. 2 in the afternoon. Please be sure that your child has their permit/license on them at all times during the duration of the course.
