All High School sports begin Nov. 16. Modified teams begin Nov. 23.
BH-BL is offering sports physicals Nov. 4 at O’Rourke Middle School and the High School. All athletes need an updated physical (within the last year) to be eligible to participate in athletics. Please sign your child up with their school nurse if they need a new physical.
Sports are offered to students as they enter the 7th grade (6th graders are not eligible). Below is the list of sports and levels that are offered for the winter season and are open for registration.
- Boys Basketball (Varsity, JV, Modified)
- Girls Basketball (Varsity, JV, Modified)
- Boys Wrestling (Varsity, JV, Modified)
- Girls Wrestling (Varsity)
- Boys Swimming and Diving (Varsity)
- Boys Bowling (Varsity)
- Boys Indoor Track (Varsity)
- Girls Indoor Track (varsity)
- Cheerleading (varsity, freshman)
- Ice Hockey (varsity)
Athletic Placement Process
If your child is in 7th or 8th grade and has been invited to play on a high school level team they need to go through the Athletic Placement Process. To do this, they need a recommendation from the Varsity coach, who will then provide Athletic Director Joe Scalise with their name and grade level. He will send an email to parents at the beginning of November with details for the selected students and will include a form that parents need to sign.
BH-BL partners with Arbiter Sports for all paperwork and registration for BH-BL’s athletic program. Please read below if your child is going to play in the Winter Season so you can get them registered to start on the first day.
Registration is open to allow school nurses the time needed to clear athletes to play. Additionally, all athletes need an updated physical (within the last year) to be eligible to participate in athletics. Physicals are offered through the district at both the MS and HS on Nov. 4. Please sign your child up with their school nurse if they need a new physical.
BH-BL offers the convenience of online registration for participation in interscholastic athletics at Arbiter Sports.
Arbiter is a secure registration platform that provides you with an easy, user-friendly way to register for our interscholastic athletic programs, and helps us be more administratively efficient and environmentally responsible.
When you register through Arbiter, the system keeps track of your information in your profile. You enter your information only once for each family member for multiple uses and multiple programs. This online platform is the ONLY way to register for participation in interscholastic athletics at BH-BL. It will be helpful to have the following information handy to allow for accurate completion of your online registration:
- Copy of most recent physical (if applicable)
- Physician contact information
- Medical History
- Health Insurance Information
- Emergency Contact Information
A parent/guardian should register their son/daughter by following this link and follow these steps after FIRST creating and activating your account:
- To find your program, click on the link provided by the Organization above and select the registration form under the word Programs.
- Click on the blue Register Now button and scroll, if necessary, to the Create Account/Log In blue buttons. If this is your first time using Arbiter, click Create Account. Click Log In, if you already have an account.
- Create your secure account by entering the account owner’s first and last names (parent/guardian), email address and password. Select “I Agree to the Terms of Service.” Click Create Account.
- You will receive an email with a link to activate your new account. (If you don’t see the email, check your email filters (spam, junk, etc.).
- Click on the link in your activation email, which will log you in to Arbiter Sports.
- Once in the registration form, complete the information requested. All fields with a red asterisk (*) are required to have an answer.
- Click the Continue button when your form is complete.
- Review your registration summary.
- Click the blue Submit button. After selecting Submit, the registration will be complete. You will receive a completion email from Arbiter confirming your registration. This does not mean that your child is cleared to play yet, it just tells you that the form has been submitted.
At any time, you may login to the Arbiter Dashboard to update your information and to check your registration(s). To view a completed registration, select the Registrations tab in the blue menu bar at the top of your screen.If you have questions regarding registration you can contact the athletic office at 518-399-9141 ex 83307.
