2026-27 School Supply Lists

As you prepare for the 2026-27 school year, there are a few supplies your child’s teacher would like your children to bring to school.

K-2 Achieve Program

Mrs. Gotham

I am so excited to work with you this year! Please note: you do NOT need to purchase both this school supply list and the list provided by your child’s general education teacher. If your child needs something in their general education class, I will discuss it with you if or when it comes up! BH-BL has covered the cost of many of the required supplies to ease the burden for families, if you need support in getting supplies for your child, please contact LGotham@bhbl.org or EOpie@bhbl.org

  • 1 hard plastic pencil case (KINDERGARTENERS ONLY, unless you would like to purchase a new one for your child)
  • 1 pair of headphones with the capability to plug in to a computer
  • 3 toothbrushes and 2 tubes of toothpaste
  • 3-5 packages of unscented baby wipes
  • 1 box of quart sized Ziploc bags
  • 1 box of sandwich sized Ziploc bas
  • Daily: A snack and water bottle
  • A full change of clothes (socks, underwear, pants/shorts, shirt, iapers/pull-ups & wipes if your child is not toilet trained*)

Mrs. Smith

We are so excited to start the 2026-2027 school year together. Our class will have a great year of learning and fun! Please be sure that you are working on those math facts and reading during the summer months! Also, BH-BL has covered the cost of many of the required supplies to ease the burden for families. Below is a small list of supplies for Room #21.

  • Change of clothes (labeled and kept in zip lock bag) – please note that this will need to be changed out as the weather changes.
  • Headphones – no earbuds please –some were left at school for ESY**
  • 1 box of tissues
  • 1 large pack of wipes (sanitizing or baby wipes **sensitive if needed)
  • 1 box of sandwich baggies or gallon zip lock bags for
  • 1 box of markers (fine tip or regular)
  • PE – sneakers for PE days – you will receive a schedule
  • Daily – snack and water bottle

Note: Your grade level teacher will send a letter for what your child will need in his/her grade level classroom. Usually – we have what they need in my classroom and will send them with materials. Please contact csmith@bhbl.org or eopie@bhbl.org if you need support in getting supplies for your child.

Kindergarten

Mrs. Patton, Mrs. Paolino, Mrs. Gregory and Ms. McCormack

We are excited to work together this year! Please bring the following items with you to kindergarten orientation.

  • Large backpack
  • Lunch box or bag (if your child will be bringing lunch)
  • Pair of Fiskars scissors
  • Pair of corded headphones (not earbuds/bluetooth) that are comfortable for your child
  • 1 four-pack (4 oz) of Play-Doh cans
  • 1 hard plain plastic* pencil box, any color. (*no zipper pouches)
  • Change of clothes to use in case of an accident or spill (pants, shorts, shirt, underwear, socks) in a labeled gallon ziplock
  • 1 plastic folder with two bottom pockets
  • Please label your child’s headphones, pencil box and scissors with your child’ s name. The Play Doh should NOT be labeled

Grade 1

Mrs. Latter, Ms. Lampo, Mrs. Malizia, New Teacher TBD

  • 1 pencil box/ pouch (Make sure it is labeled with your student’s name and can fit all their crayons, markers and materials!)
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • 1 heavy duty folder for student’s “Take Home Folder.” Make sure it has a clear front pocket so a cover page can be inserted.
  • 2 fun folders labeled with their names for backup.
  • earbuds or headphones in a small carry case or gallon bag, labeled with their name. We will be using these daily so please make sure they are comfortable for your student.
  • 1 box of sandwich storage bags
  • a change of clothes (to be left at school in a ziploc bag labeled with name)
  • 1 box of tissues

Plan to pack a snack daily with your student. Also send a water bottle to cut back on trips to the water fountain! (this will be kept in a backpack or snack bag please). Classroom snacks need to be peanut and treenut free.

We will be outside daily. Make sure to pack comfortable sneakers for PE days (and outdoor recess), a jacket or sweatshirt when the weather feels chilly!

Grade 2

We are so happy that you will be one of our students this year! We have an exciting year planned for you! Please bring the following supplies on the first day of school:

  • 1 pair scissors (metal blunt tip)
  • 4 thin Expo Markers
  • Whiteboard Eraser
  • 2 small pencil sharpeners
  • 1 pencil pouch or bag with zipper
  • 3 folders with bottom pockets
  • headphones (in a name-labeled slider baggie)
  • backpack (no wheels permitted due to safety concerns)

Please bring a healthy snack (nut free) and a refillable water bottle to school each day. Wear sneakers on physical education/PE days.

Grade 3

We’re so excited to have you in our classes this year! Get ready for an awesome year of learning, growth and fun! Please send the following supplies to school on the first day:

  • 2 fine-tip dry erase markers with eraser caps (any colors)
  • 1 small pair of scissors
  • 3 handheld pencil sharpeners
  • 1 large soft pencil pouch to store supplies
  • 1 pack of multiplication flash cards
  • 5 plastic folders w/ bottom pockets and no prongs (1 of each color: red, yellow, green, blue, purple)
  • 1 clipboard with a flat clip
  • 1 large container of Lysol disinfectant wipes
  • 1 box of tissues
  • 1 pair of headphones for Chromebook

Please write your full name on all supplies. Bring a healthy morning snack and refillable water bottle to school each day. Sneakers are required on PE days. We also recommend an extra change of clothes in your child’s backpack.

 Grade 4

Mrs. Muller, Ms. Niedziejko and  Mrs. Vardaro

Please make some time this summer to read and practice your math facts every week. Remember to participate in the Math Fact Summer Challenge! We would also like you to complete the 4th Grade Summer Writing Journal. Participating in these activities will help you maintain the progress you made in 3rd grade. On the first day of school, please bring your supplies, a healthy snack and water bottle, and your Summer Writing Journal.

  • 1 small, handheld pencil sharpener
  • 6 thin dry erase markers
  • 1 pair of scissors (write your initials on them)
  • 1 pencil pouch
  • 2 packages of Post-It notes
  • 6 colored folders with two bottom pockets (green, yellow, purple, black, blue, red. Also, plastic folders are optional, but do last longer) These colors are important to help keep students organized.
  • 1 folder (design of your choice)
  • 1 set of earbuds or headphones for Chromebooks
  • 1 small flashlight
  • an extra set of clothes to keep in your backpack

Please label EACH item with your child’s name before the first day of school. Thank you! Please do not send items that are not included on this list. This includes fidget toys. Extra supplies can become a distraction.

 Grade 5

Mrs. Brophy, Mrs. Olsen, New Teacher TBD  and Mrs. Sherwood

We are so excited to spend next school year with you! We know we are going to have a great year together! Below is a list of supplies you will need. Together we will get them all labeled and organized over the first few days of school. If you have trouble finding any supplies, don’t worry! We’ll have some extras on hand.

  • 1 small handheld pencil sharpener (with receptacle for shavings)
  • 1 small pair of scissors
  • 1 package 3-inch Post-it notes
  • Pencil box or pouch for supplies
  • 1.5 inch 3-ring binder color of your choice (for agenda and take home folder)
  • Earbuds (or headphones) labeled with your name in a container or Ziploc bag
  • OLSEN & SHERWOOD STUDENTS ONLY:  ½ inch 3-ring binder color of you choice (with clear cover pocket)

Optional Items

  • 1 box of tissues (boys)
  • 1 roll of paper towels (girls)
  • 1 box of sandwich bags (boys)
  • 1 box of gallon sized bags (girls)
