HS Science Research students presented at prestigious regional symposium

Sinopoli advances to state competition

On Saturday, Feb. 3, BH-BL hosted the 17th Annual Eastern Section Junior Science and Humanities Sub-Regional Symposium. Nearly 100 students from 23 different school districts from Buffalo to Orange County presented their research either in PowerPoint or poster format. More than 20 professionals from various institutions such as the University at Albany, Wadsworth Labs, and Albany Medical College served as judges.

BH-BL High School Science Research students Darian Topolski, Jonathan Sinopoli, Karolyn Bedore, and Mary Hamilla were all selected to represent BH-BL at the symposium presenting their original research.

Congratulations to Karoyln Bedore for being awarded third place, and to Jonathan Sinopoli for being awarded first place in their respective divisions. As a result of his placement, Jon will represent the region at the state competition at SUNY Albany on March 7.

Congratulations to all of our presenters and best of luck to Jon in the state competition.
