Food donations needed for backpack program

Donations can be made at ANY BH-BL school main office between Dec. 9 and 16

There is an urgent need for canned chicken and tuna, soup, stews, canned beans and vegetables, peanut butter and jelly (please, no glass jars), rice, dried beans, cereal and granola bars, oatmeal, and boxes of pasta.

Each year, BH-BL hosts a holiday food drive to benefit the district’s students who are part of the weekend backpack program. This program, among other things, is aimed at helping fight hunger by providing students with a backpack of food for weekends when no school meals are served.

The holiday food drive is to specifically collect food donations to help students and their families during the long holiday recess when school is closed and meals are not served.

To help fill backpacks, please consider donating food, grocery store gift cards, or monetary donations.
