BH-BL community comes together to fill high school’s Prom Closet

Every year hundreds of BH-BL High School students get decked out in formal attire to attend prom. Every year there are also students who are unable to attend prom because of the associated costs. Parent University event March 21: "Right Under Your Nose"

Do you know what to look for if you suspect your teen of using drugs/alcohol? BH-BL Parent University and the Saratoga County Prevention Council have teamed up to bring you the "Right Under Your Nose" presentation on Wednesday, March 21 at 7 p.m. in the O'Rourke Middle School cafetorium. You'll learn about teen trends and today's drug culture as well as have the opportunity to walk through a mock teen bedroom to see what you actually need to look for. (This presentation is for parents/adults only.)

Get ready, get set...and go show off your talents in the annual BH-BL Follies being held Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Auditions for the Follies are Monday, March 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, March 27 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the middle school cafetorium. Sign up for auditions here.

Making a difference one little dress at a time

BH-BL alumni Zoe Rockwell and FACS teacher Danielle Manning have been teaming up for the past several years to work on a project that helps clothe children in Africa, Little Dresses for Africa. Using new or gently used pillowcases, Manning teaches students in her Fashion & Textile classes how to transform a standard pillowcase into an adorable dress and t-shirts into shorts. The students learn more than sewing skills with this project. They also learn about compassion, kindness, and the importance of giving back and helping others. Rockwell brings the dresses with her to Africa where she delivers them to underprivileged villages. Manning is accepting donations of gently used or new pillowcases, spools of thread, and elastic.
