The BH-BL Educational Foundation is sponsoring this month’s Community Curbside Dinner. Place your orders by 5 pm on Monday, April 29 for curbside pick up on Wednesday, May 1 at BH-BL High School (back parking lot). Pick up is from 4:30 to 6 pm. [Yes, please! I need a break from cooking!]

Early Mail Voting Applications Available for School Budget Vote
Earlier this school year, New York Governor Hochul signed into legislation the Early Mail Voting Act. This allows qualified voters the opportunity to vote in their school budgets and board elections by mail. Qualified voters who prefer to mail in their ballots rather than voting in person on 2024-25 School Budget on Tuesday, May 21, first need to complete an early mail voting application and return it to the district by May 14 if the applicants want a ballot mailed to them, or by May 20 if the ballot is to be personally delivered to the voter. [This might be a better option for me. Where do I download or pick up an application?]

Lego League Expo and FIRST Informational Day, April 27
Is your child interested in STEAM? Does your child enjoy hands-on learning activities? Do they love to solve invigorating problems? Would they love to be part of global robotics competitions right here in BHBL, K-12? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then we’ll see you and your child on Saturday, April 27 between 10am and noon at O’Rourke Middle School (cafeteria), to learn about the three divisions of amazing programs offered by FIRST® LEGO® League at Burnt Hills.

HS PTSA Need Your Help
It’s that time of year when the PTSA begins making plans for Staff Appreciation Week. It’s an exciting time but it can’t be done without your help. Please consider helping us celebrate and recognize our wonderful staff. [Count me in! How can I help?]

Special Needs Expo, April 20
The Special Needs Expo is Saturday, April 20 from 11 am to 2 pm at O’Rourke Middle School. There will be businesses, organizations, and service providers from all over the Capital Region showcasing their offerings. Questions? Contact Carolyn Huston at bhblsepta.expo@yahoo.com.

Calendar Update for May 23
Please mark your calendars to reflect that Thursday, May 23, 2024 could possibly be a day off from school. Currently, BH-BL has not used any snow/emergency closure days in the 2023-24 school year. If BH-BL uses 0 or 1 snow/emergency closure days, Thursday, May 23 will be the day identified as the “Contingency Day” and school will be closed that day, extending the Memorial Day weekend. Memorial Day weekend currently includes no school on Friday, May 24. We will continue to keep you updated.
