March 24 Board Meeting Live Streamed

The Governor recently issued an executive order temporarily changing the laws governing public meetings during the public health crisis. Although district buildings are closed to the public in order to adhere to social distancing practices, the Governor is allowing Board of Education meetings to be held so districts can continue to conduct business. The meetings, however, must be available to the public either through phone or video conferencing. BH-BL will continue to live stream all of its Board of Education meetings via YouTube. The link to view the March 24 meeting will be available on Tuesday on our website.

Board members and administrators will use Google Meeting to join the meeting virtually as well. The meeting will be run much like other board meetings, except the live broadcast will continue after the consent agenda is approved to include the “COVID-19 Update” discussion. During this  discussion, the Board of Education will accept questions from the public in the same fashion as the annual School Budget Forums. This means residents need to log into a gmail account to access the live stream chat box where questions can be submitted. If you don’t have a gmail account and want to submit a question, please submit your question on this Google Form. All submitted questions will be answered in the order in which they are received. Because the questions submitted can be seen by the public, we kindly ask that online viewers follow similar board meeting practices, which include stating (or typing, in this case) your first and last name, being polite, and refraining from referring to staff or others by name when submitting your question. Board members or administrators will answer questions to the best of their ability and if a question needs to be researched, someone will get back to you within 48 hours.

The March 24 Board agenda is available here. Questions about the consent portion of the agenda can be sent to the Board of Education President (boardpresident@bhbl.org).
